Tooth Whitening Reviews – How I Finally Got Whiter Teeth After Trying Just About Everything Else

Alta White Hi Everyone, Stacey Samuels is my name and this site is all about the different   methods that I’ve tried to get whiter teeth on a permanent basis. These tooth whitening reviews will look at some of the more popular methods that people are using to attempt whiten their teeth and what my experiences were when it came to trying these methods for myself. I will also tell you about a simple-to-use product that I did finally discover which has given me the whiter teeth that I’d always craved.

My teeth first became discolored (to the point where I thought it was a problem)  in my 30’s. I can only put it down to the fact that up until then I was a smoker and a heavy coffee drinker. Certainly these were the reasons that my dentist put forward when I first asked him why my teeth were starting to turn yellow. Regardless of the reason why however, the fact was that having unpleasant looking teeth started to have a seriously negative impact on my life. I just didn’t smile as much as I used to and some of my friends were starting to regard me as a sourpuss. I hated having my picture taken because everyone kept telling me to smile when I just didn’t want to – to the point where I ended up being extremely self conscious about the whole thing. I guess you could argue that there are harsher things in life for a person to endure but nonetheless, I got to a point where I was determined to find a solution to my problem.

So I did what most people would first do in this situation …

I visited my dentist and asked what the options were. He was obviously helpful and knowledgable about the problem and started putting various options on the table such as laser toth whitening and professional tooth bleaching – but as the costs of these sorts of procedures were getting into the thousands and that they were also considered a cosmetic procedure and therefore not covered by my health insurance – I decided that I wasn’t really up for spending that sort of money and that I should look at other options.

So then I started looking at some of the over-the-counter tooth whitening methods that were on offer. I’d heard a lot about Crest Tooth Whitening Strips but was put off when I did some more research and started hearing all the stories about striping. I’d previously tried a few different brands of teeth whitening toothpaste but none of these had any sort of serious effect. What I did end up trying was a was a tooth whitening tray and gel by Rembrandt. Unfortunately, I found the whole exercise really uncomfortable and even after it was completed, it didn’t give me a result that I was happy with.

What Did Finally Work …

Feeling a little despondent at this stage, I got online to do some further research. There seemed to be a bit of buzz about a product called Alta White – which uses the same teeth bleaching gel that a dentist would use. As they were offering a free trial of this product I thought that I had nothing to lose in giving it a go. I placed my order for a free trial and received the kit within the week.

My Results …

Even after the first couple of days I was amazed at what sort of results I was getting by using Alta White. I could definitely notice that my teeth were getting a shade or two lighter each day. After 2 complete weeks the before and after difference was stark: it was like I’d been given a whole new mouth!  It took me 2 weeks to get complete results but you could definitely notice the improvement on a day-by-day basis. Check out the photos below:

What I Really Liked About Alta White:

* Alta White actually uses the same bleaching agent  that a dentist would use were you to have your teeth professionally bleached.

* I experienced no tooth sensitivity or any other type of discomfort of the mouth which I had done with other teeth whitening products that I tried.

* It didn’t require me to use a dental tray and leave it in place for 2 hours.

* The whole process can be achieved in less than 10 minutes each day.

* It came with a free trial*** (although you do pay shipping and handling) which means that I basically got whiter teeth for free.

*** Please read the terms and conditions carefully when ordering the free trial. If you cancel within 14 days of receiving the product there will be no charge but otherwise you will be put straight onto their Free Refill program which does carry a charge. I was getting great benefit from the product so I was happy to go onto the refill program but I have heard of others who didn’t read the T&C’s carefully, who were taken by surprise when they saw a charge appear on their credit card.

What I Didn’t Like About Alta White

* It’s a minor quibble but if you accidentally run your tongue over your teeth after you’ve applied the whitenng powder – it doesn’t taste that great.

My Final Word …

I can’t tell you how good it feels to be able to finally smile again with confidence. Yellow teeth were a problem that was really begining to wear me down.

I hope that you’ve found my tooth whitening reviews to be useful. If you’re suffering from discoloured teeth then I’d really encourage you to give Alta White a go. In my opinion it is the “best teeth whitening product “ going around. It’s given me whiter, brighter teeth and I couldn’t be more thrilled.

The last time I checked they were still offering a free trial of Alta White, so you’ve got nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Over The Counter Teeth Whitening Products

Hi,

I also wanted to talk with you about my experiences with some of the over-the-counter or home teeth whitening kits.

After deciding that getting my teeth whitened professionally was not an option I began investigating some of the other sorts of remedies that were available.

I had used teeth whitening toothpaste years ago (so I guess strictly speaking, this was the first thing that I tried) but had rejected it as something that doesn’t work. I suspect that they use the term “whitening” just as a marketing ploy. It made no visible difference to my teeth and nor have I heard of it working for anybody else.

When it came to the over-the-counter teeth whitening products I heard mixed reports about their effectiveness but I really wanted to find out for myself. I looked at teeth whitening strips by Crest but I didn’t actually try them myself. My research just threw up too many people who had experienced “striping” as a result of using the strips. You see, the strips fit very well over the flat surfaces of the tooth but miss the indentations, gaps and ridges of the normal tooth. This can lead to bleaching only occurring where the strip actually contacts the tooth – meaning your teeth take on a striped appearance.

I’d read a lot about tooth bleaching systems using tooth whitening trays. I thought that this would be definitely worth a try as it seemed to be an at-home version of one of the more popular methods being promoted by the dentists. The trasy are filled with a tooth bleaching gel which varies from system to system. The trays are then fitted over the teeth and left for different lengths of time largely dependent on the strength of the tooth bleaching gel. Rembrandt has a number of teeth whitening products and was a name that was always bobbing up during my research so I decided to give their whitening gel a try. This involved boiling a tooth tray and then molding it to fit your mouth. After that you place some of the bleaching gel thoroughout the tray and just place it in your mouth. The instructions said that I was to leave the tray in place for 2 hours, but the problem was that it was just so uncomfortable – I really wanted to tear it out after 30 minutes. Through will power I managed to last the full 2 hours. It did make a slight difference to the appearance of my teeth but was nowhere near the result that I was hoping for.

Well, at least I was working out what I didn’t want! At this stage I decided to get on the Internet and after searching on “best teeth whitening system” I started to discover some products that were only available via the Internet. There seemed to be a bit of buzz surrounding a product called Alta White. I was a little sceptical at first but as they were offering a free trial of the product, I saw that I didn’t have anything to lose. So I went ahead and ordered … and I’ve got to say that this point that I’m quite impressed. I don’t want to say too much more at this stage because I plan to do an in-depth review of this product in a subsequent post.

So check back soon!

Professional Teeth Whitening – What I Found Out

Hi,

The first thing I did, once I’d made the decision to whiten my teeth was investigate what professional teeth whitening options were available via my dentist. I quickly became disillusioned with this as an option. I guess what put me off the most was the fact that professional teeth whitening is considered to be a cosmetic procedure and therefore not coverable via my health insurance. The short story is that teeth whitening done professionally, without the safety net of health insurance, was just too expensive for me to consider going any further with.

But nonetheless, I did do quite a lot of research on the subject and it would be worth sharing with you what it was that I found out. By and large the professional teeth whitening services on offer came down to: laser teeth whitening, teeth bleaching and tooth veneers.

I was interested to find out the science behind laser teeth whitening , where a laser and a special gel are used in combination to actually alter the molecular structure of your teeth – changing larger light absorbing molecules deep within your teeth into smaller light reflecting ones – the result being whiter teeth. But I was also advised by my dentist that it was probably going to require a few sessions to get to my teeth to a whiteness that I’d be satisfied with and that the costs could get into the thousands. I didn’t want to pay that sort of money.

I also enquired about teeth bleaching and tooth veneers.

Teeth bleaching uses the same sort of gel (generally a mixture with carbamide peroxide or hydrogen peroxide as the bleaching agent) as is used in the laser teeth whitening treatment – but because the dentist doesn’t use the laser as an enhancer the whole procedure takes a lot longer. I was also advised that whilst there was sometimes an instant whitening effect, this was often due to the teeth becoming dehydrated and therefore lighter during the process but once they came into contact again with saliva again they become re-hydrated and the lightening effect could wear off – meaning that I might’ve been required to follow up in the in-office procedure with a home based whitener. Though not as expensive as the laser whitening treatment, the bleaching procedure, depending on the number of sessions it took (possibly up to 6!) could also go from the high hundreds into the thousands.

Tooth veneers – which are basically litte caps that are glued to the front of your teeth to hide the fact that they are yellow – actually need to be custom made and the cost can be a thousand dollars or more per tooth. Yikes! No thanks.

So, at the end of all that, I decided that using a professional teeth whitening service was not for me. But I was going to continue searching …

New Tooth Whitening Reviews – Welcome

Hi,

And welcome to New Tooth Whitening Reviews!

As a person who has previously suffered from having discoloured teeth and who has now ultimately found a solution, I really wanted to share my story with others who might be experiencing the same problem.

Having yellow teeth is no fun. Not feeling as if you can break into a natural smile obviously affects the way that you deal with people and can end up having a negative effect on your whole life. Well, this was certainly how it was for me anyway. I was just plain less confident.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to latch onto a good solution straight away. I tried a number of different things before I finally found something that worked to my satisfaction. That’s why I wanted to start this blog – because I know that other people are going to undertake the exact same journey that I did.

I’ll be looking at some of the more popular methods that people use to attempt to whiten their teeth – including the professional methods such as laser whitening and bleaching as well as the over the counter teeth whitening remedies – and tell you about my experiences with each.

And then I’ll let you in on the little secret that allowed me to put yellow teeth behind me forever.

So make sure you check back soon!
